Summer activities

Hiking

Engelberg is famous as a skiing resort, but it has a lot to offer during summer, too. Of course, this includes climbing and hiking (especially on the routes that are closed in winter). Or you can enjoy tennis and swimming, adventure sports such as bungee jumping or canyoning, and also calmer activities like golfing or walking.
Equipment will be provided by the organiser or can be rented at different rental stations in Engelberg (in sports shops, etc.).

Climbing and mountain tours

Around Engelberg, there are numerous Vie Ferrate for beginners and advanced levels alike (e.g. Brunnistöckli, Rigidalstock, Zittergrat, etc.). Courses and guided tours are offered. More advanced sportspeople can go on one of the guided high-mountain or glacier tours (e.g. Grosstitlis, Titlis Glacier Cave).

Hiking

Well developed and signposted hiking trails. Organised hiking tours are offered. Sturdy shoes, some provisions and a good map... off you go!

Kick scooters

Not the gondola? For a very special downhill trip, kick scooters can be rented at Gerschni Alp station (return station in the valley). The more risk seeking people may want to try downhill mountain biking.

Kayaking on lake Trübsee

The beautiful lake Trübsee is ideal for kayaking and other boat trips.
